Mickey Rourke was quick to burst onto the scene in the early 1980’s in the hit comedy Diner. His rise to fame would eventually take him right to the top of Hollywood, where he showcased his acting skills across an array of different projects. At one point he grew tired of being an actor, attempting to become a boxer instead. He didn’t get very far, but he gets top marks from us for trying something new and heading into a new chapter of his life.

Post-boxing career, Rourke tried his hand at some acting gigs again, but could only land parts where he was meant to portray someone on the fringes of society. The roles matched his new appearance, which was slowly starting to change in a major way. He did end up getting major nominations for his work in Wrestler, which many thought would be an opportunity to kickstart his career once again.
