Pool Party

With summer blessing us all with plenty of sunshine and warm weather, it would be a huge shame to let this time go to waste without opening the pool up for business. Of course, many barbecues will generally combine with a pool party, so there is nothing holding you back from feeding your splashing guests with some meaty (or veggie) treats.
Whether you want to keep everyone refreshed with a big bowl of punch or a scintillating selection of cocktails, make sure that you have plenty of exciting hydration for your guests. Music is also essential, so bring the speakers out onto the lawn and get that party playlist down. You will also want to provide sunscreen, as nothing ruins a party faster than a nasty burn.

Themed Parties

What better way to celebrate your favorite Netflix series, movie, or video game than with a themed party? It can also just be a general theme, like “Superheroes vs Villains” or “Medieval Legends”. Whatever theme you decide on, make sure to turn your backyard into a believable setting for your theme.
For example, if you want to have a “Wild West” party, bring out the haystacks, or if you are having a medieval themed party, you could cut out large cardboard planks into castle walls or village huts.

Picnic Time

This is one of the easiest types of parties to host, as all you really need is a fine selection of blankets, pillows, and plenty of treats! You can certainly ask your friends to help with the planning by requesting that they bring their own blankets, pillows, and maybe even a basket of goodies!

Lemonade is a standard picnic refreshment, so get a big sack of the sour yellow fruit and dedicate an afternoon to squeezing out some delectable hydration. If you have a particularly dense garden, then you are in for the real forest picnic feel.

Some General Tips

Whatever kind of party you decide upon, there are a few key factors which can make or break your special evening. Firstly, you need to make sure that your guests will have enough comfortable seating. You might find that your dining room chairs can easily be repurposed into a cozy seating area.
The correct lighting setup is essential for a warm and inviting ambiance. You can string some fairy lights around the place, light an assortment of scented candles, and even bring the old tiki torches out of the basement.
Summertime means mosquitoes, so make sure to get rid of any standing water in your garden and make sure that a few fans are blowing in the area.
