Vincent Van Gogh (1873)

Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890), the master of post-impressionism, lived a difficult life. He suffered from acute depression and ended up taking his own life at the age of 37. After Vincent’s brother Theo died, his sister-in-law, Jo van Gogh-Bonger, inherited his life’s work and transformed him into the visionary we know today. In her life, she worked tirelessly to bring his works to the recognition they deserved. Many people claim to have van Gogh images, but none of them have been shown to be genuine. This might very possibly be a photo taken by Theo.

Jesse James (c. 1876 – 1882)

You may not believe it, but this outlaw’s real name was Jesse James (1847 – 1882). If you’re a Pokemon fan, you’ll appreciate this interesting fact! James fought in the Civil War as a result of an unpleasant event in which Union militia attacked him and his stepfather. They were on the lookout for Frank, James’ brother, a Confederate guerrilla. James joined the Confederacy after witnessing his stepfather’s death. James would come under fatal Union fire once again a month after the war’s conclusion and would be shot to death. James created a legendary robbery group with his brother and a band of Confederate soldiers. Bob Ford, a loyal member of James’ group, would be the guy to eliminate him. He and Ford were later released free by the governor of Missouri after facing the gallows alongside his brother Charley. They then began staging dramatic portrayals of their assassination of James. Both would suffer atrocities.
