Buffalo Bill Cody (1911)

Buffalo Bill whose real name was William Frederick Cody (1846-1917) was an American frontiersman, Pony Express regular, and producer of Buffalo Bill’s Wild West. He would become the world’s first global celebrity. When it comes to the man’s well-known nickname, reports say, it began in 1867 when Cody spearheaded an attempt to provide buffalo meat to Eastern Division employees working on the Union Pacific Railroad construction project. But although he was almost exclusively known for his fictitious showmanship, his talents on the horse and in the field were unsurpassed, and they were evident during his service as a scout in the United States Army under Lieutenant General Philip Sheridan for four years.

Many people tried to assassinate Rasputin, but they were unsuccessful. What ended his betrayal was a conservative band led by Prince Felicis Yusupov. In this photo, Rasputin is shown in St. Petersburg with his wife, Praskovia Dubroniva, and his eldest daughter, Maria. The family is circled by Rasputin’s followers.
